KING MARCEL offers its customers a fast, gourmet and convivial meal, thanks to a homemade French burger that’s unique in the world. We combine the best of Anglo-Saxon fast food with the best of French cuisine. Customers can enjoy burgers cooked with high-quality local ingredients in less than half an hour, in a relaxed French neo-bistro atmosphere. Luxsure’s editors have tested and approved it.
KING MARCEL is a burger chain made with passion and quality products. The burgers are made with fresh produce and everything is homemade. Most of the ingredients are French, and the brand favors short delivery circuits for freshness.
KING MARCEL has decided to call on the best bakers wherever it sets up shop (Maison Bettant in Lyon, Le Moulin de la Vierge in Paris…) to offer the best buns.
KING MARCEL has called on the La Mère Richard cheese dairy, made famous throughout France by its Saint-Marcellin ané made with raw milk and praised so many times by Paul Bocuse. Marcel uses the finest French AOP and IGP cheeses in his burgers: Saint-Nectaire, Morbier, Fourme d’Ambert, Brillat-Savarin, Cantal, etc. La Mere Richard is the brand of the Maitre Laitiers du Cotentin cooperative, making all products available throughout France.

KING MARCEL has selected 100% French Limousin beef. The steaks are 150g and contain just 5% fat.
To make good burgers, it’s not enough to have the right ingredients; you have to know how to combine them… KING MARCEL has called on two experienced chefs from the traditional restaurant world: Jean François Mallet, who trained with Joël Robuchon and Michel Rostand, and Sebastien Amieux, who trained with Pierre Orsi. Together, they have created a short menu of 6 burgers, ensuring perfect, consistent product quality over time. KING MARCEL also offers its Burger du Marché, which, like the plat du jour in a French bistro,
changes every 15 days and features seasonal produce.
At KING MARCEL, everything is homemade (including ketchup and mayonnaise!) and the burgers are prepared right before your eyes. And let’s not forget the side dishes: fresh homemade fries cooked in two baths, and a crunchy green salad for the more sensible.

KING MARCEL wouldn’t dream of talking about French burgers without accompanying them with a glass of wine. To create its menu, KING MARCEL turned to sommelier Laurent TURREL, who has designed a short, regional and delightful wine list that is modified according to the regions in which the restaurants are located. And that makes all the difference.
KING MARCEL has chosen simple, French desserts, either homemade or supplied by its cheesemaker Mère Richardfor the milk desserts:
– Praline or chocolate tartlet
– Cookies
– Faisselle with coulis
– Small pot of vanilla or chocolate cream
– Rice pudding

KING MARCEL targets high-traffic locations.
The restaurants are located in tourist areas (La Clusaz and Rue Mercière in LYON) or close to offices (La Part-Dieu in LYON).
The ideal location is mixed (business lunch / leisure evening and W.E. ) like the restaurant on rue Montmartre in Paris.
KING MARCEL has paid particular attention to the layout of its restaurant, convinced that you can only eat well if you feel good at the table.
The architectural concept was imagined and realized by talented young architects from Bordeaux-based MDG (Mélange des Genres).
The interior is both chic and colorful, welcoming and intimate. The architects have revisited and modernized the traditional French bistro, while retaining its key features (banquettes and chairs, real pewter zinc, mirrors on the walls…). On the floor, colorful trompe-l’oeil tiles are placed vertically along the bar or kitchen walls, diverted from their usual use.
