Dreaming of a romantic, luxurious hotel in the heart of Montmartre? The Maison Souquet is the place to be. A former brothel (owned by Madame Souquet), the Maison Souquet will plunge you into the heart of the belle époque for a truly timeless romantic stay. The decor, by Jacques Garcia (responsible for the famous Mamounia palace, Fouquet’s and the Costes hotels), evokes the turn of the century. High-quality materials, velvets, fabrics, lots of detail and care, antique furniture sourced from around the world… here you’ll find nothing but the real thing, not objects of today customized to create an antique effect.
.
Inside the hotel, you’ll find 3 magnificent lounges: a Japanese-style winter garden, the perfect place for brunch (I’ll be going back there soon with some friends, the place is bright, a real moment out of time and far from the noise of the city).
An elegant cocktail bar (come and discover the delicious cocktails), and an Oriental lounge with breathtaking decor and finely crafted details that make you feel like you’re anywhere but Paris.
La Maison Souquet is truly an intimate, human-scale hotel. You’ll find just 20 rooms here to give you an idea (14 rooms, 6 suites including 2 apartments). Each room is named after a courtesan. A nice nod to the past, a change from the traditional room numbers (I was in the room named Rose), a very pretty, very feminine room.
All the rooms are decorated differently, and each is as unique as the young women of the time – a veritable jewel.
Another highlight of the Maison Souquet is its spa. It’s entirely private for one hour for hotel guests. What a pleasure to have a spa all to yourself! The icing on the cake is a very romantic spa, with subdued lighting, an alcove with a sofa and cushions for relaxing, and a magical constellation design on the ceiling above the pool.
It’s the perfect place for a relaxing moment and the place I now recommend to all couples looking for a romantic spot in the heart of the capital.
As for the staff, they take care of everything, and do their utmost to satisfy the customer. A big thank you to Alexandre who took care of me during my stay and introduced me to this superb hotel.
