Elie Saab invited the press to its new premises in the 16th arrondissement for the presentation of its spring-summer collection.
I’d already had the chance to attend the show, but it’s true that I never refuse to see a collection a second time, especially when it’s as beautiful and sensual as the Elie Saab collection. At a press presentation, you also have more time to linger over the details, the accessories and, above all, to touch the clothes.
Although the spring-summer outfits were in the spotlight, I first had the opportunity to appreciate those from the resort collection. Shades of green, mauve and beige for this mid-collection, enhanced by pearls and details reminiscent of the Orient. The emphasis is on daywear, with more basic creations that nonetheless respect the house’s codes.
We then move on to the spring-summer collection. I don’t need to remind you how much I was won over by this collection during the fashion show. The opportunity I have here is to take a closer look at the garments and accessories, which really come into their own this season. Floral and golden themes, exotic leather clutches and bags in shimmering colors are the foundation of the accessories collection. Belts are no longer part of the accessories range, as they are no longer sold separately from garments.
As for the clothes, I have the opportunity to touch them, to feel the lightness of the silk, the weight of the grosgrain strips, the details of the perforated topstitched muslin, the pearls and embroidery, all part of the house’s identity. Because that’s what Élie Saab is all about: a voyage of the senses.
