From June 11 to 13, the Palais Galliera transforms its garden into an open-air cinema for the fifth edition of Galliera fait son cinéma. The program echoes the exhibition Eighteenth-century fashion. A fantasized heritage presented until July 12, 2026.

Three films structure this event: Jacques Demy’s Lady Oscar, Stephen Frears’ Les Liaisons dangereuses and Céline Sciamma’s Portrait de la jeune fille en feu. Each offers a different reading of the 18th century, between the court of Versailles, the aristocracy of the Enlightenment and a contemporary look at painting and desire.

Each screening will be preceded by an introduction by a specialist, with free access to the exhibition. The installation functions as a cultural extension of the museum: fashion leaves the showcase to join the screen, costumes, bodies and cinematic imaginations.

June 8, 2023 – screening of the documentary “Colette mon amour”, in the courtyard of the Palais Galliera, in the presence of director Hugues Lawson-Body and producer Eliane Lawson-Body.
