For the first time, Piaget is adding an automatic movement to its Limelight Gala collection, and
marks the beginning of a brand-new chapter in the history of this collection.
Extraordinary women
Piaget’s Limelight Gala collection celebrates extraordinary women from around the world: creative, inspiring, committed and independent
women. Since the 1970s, Piaget’s master
artisans have been paying tribute to these daring and passionate women through the art of
watchmaking, goldsmithing and gem-setting, creating extraordinary timepieces.
Limelight Gala: the icon of precious watches
The name of the Limelight Gala collection is inspired by the famous Piaget Society, which organized
fabulous parties where celebrities, artists, friends and clients gathered. These enchanting
evenings were an invitation to celebrate friendship, beauty, memorable moments and
life’s pleasures.
Piaget has captured the whimsical spirit of these magical evenings through dazzling
jewelry watches, distinguished by their round cases, two elongated asymmetrical horns and
a row of sparkling stones. Limelight Gala timepieces have evolved over the years to
feature brilliant malachite dials and magnificent Milanese gold bracelets, while
remaining true to their origins: the alliance of watchmaking and jewelry in
glamorous collections with vibrant energy.
The four pillars of Piaget
Piaget’s Limelight Gala creations are inspired by the House’s four pillars: the Art of
movement, the Art of gold, the Art of color and the Art of light. This year, the Art of movement
takes on a new meaning with the launch of an original automatic movement at the heart
of the Limelight Gala, the Manufacture caliber 501P, which combines Piaget’s watchmaking know-how and history
with its jewelry expertise. Thanks to its two fully integrated Swiss manufactures
in Plan-les-Ouates and La Côte-aux-Fées, Piaget boasts over 40 specific professions that
work hand in hand to create these timepieces. This ingenious fusion of know-how
has enabled the brand to constantly innovate and push back the limits of what is possible.
New Piaget Limelight Gala 32 mm automatic models
Piaget’s new Limelight Gala 32 mm automatic is available in five stunning models
, all powered by the company’s self-winding 501P movement and
featuring a transparent sapphire caseback, a testament to Piaget’s incredible watchmaking expertise.
Versions with gold Milanese bracelets
The first two models come with gold Milanese bracelets reminiscent of the historic
bracelets designed in the 1950s. Piaget has never lost this unique know-how
and makes each bracelet in exactly the same way as it was seventy years ago. Initially, the
bracelet takes the form of a gold bar, which the craftsman then shapes into tiny
gold wires twisted, woven and tightened one by one by hand: a process requiring more than 35 hours of
labor. Perfectly integrated with the case, the bracelet appears to be a natural extension
of the asymmetrical lugs and the watch case. In addition to their dazzling aesthetics, Piaget’s
Milanese mesh bracelets are also extremely supple and comfortable on the wrist
, like a second skin.
White and rose gold versions, matched with alligator leather straps
Two versions, one in white gold and the other in rose gold, adorn an elegant black alligator leather strap
. These models are also adorned with a row of brilliant-cut diamonds that
underline the two asymmetrical lugs, allowing the owner and this collection to
stand out from the crowd.
A sparkling snow setting
Finally, the Piaget Limelight Gala automatic 32 mm is also available with a
snow-set dial. The snow-setting technique is particularly complex, as the gem-setter must calculate
precisely the position of each diamond, all of which are different in size. The snow-set dial captures
and reflects light in an extraordinary way, making the owner of
this timepiece shine with a thousand sparkles.
