Alone on Mars
Adapted from a best-seller, the new film directed by Ridley Scott (Twentieth Century Fox) is out of the ordinary for two reasons.
Firstly, because the pitch is highly original: on Mars, a team of American astronauts is caught in a terrible storm. During the evacuation, one of them disappears, and everything suggests that he is dead. But this is far from being the case…
Secondly, thanks to exceptional direction, special effects and casting (with Matt Damon in the lead), the film is very realistic, and at times closer to documentary than cinema. A true feat that makes this feature film a classic of the genre. A great moment in cinema, to be discovered at the wonderful Pathé Wepler in Paris.
Note: Andy Weir’s novel, which inspired the film, is available from Milady.
