What Parisian Haute Couture Is Already Telling Us About This Fall’s Beauty Trends

Glassy skin, metallic eyes, and XXL hair accessories: research data analyzed by Fresha shows that Parisian Haute Couture beauty trends are already influencing online search habits, well before the start of the school year.

Glassy skin as the foundation of luxury makeup

“Beautiful makeup starts with beautiful skin. The complexion wasn’t weighed down by product; it looked healthy, hydrated, and radiant,” notes Annabelle Taurua, a beauty expert at Fresha, who attended Paris Haute Couture Week in July. Searches for “glass skin” surged 202% in one year to reach 934,000 monthly queries, driven by high-profile appearances such as Cynthia Erivo’s at the Balenciaga Couture show.

This shift toward healthy skin rather than covered-up skin is accompanied by a decline in the use of heavy foundation in favor of skincare products, facials, and treatments that improve the skin’s quality itself—a trend confirmed by related searches for “dewy skin ” (+109%) and “skin tint” (1.1 million searches, +116%).

A metallic eye look that’s more subtle than gold

On the runways, metallic eyes have replaced the bright colors of summer with a lighter touch than expected: “Metallic doesn’t mean covering the entire eyelid with glitter. It’s much more refined than that. A metallic line, a hint of olive eyeshadow, or a touch of gold in the inner corner is all it takes,” explains Annabelle Taurua. Searches for “metallic eyes” have risen by 300% over the past year—a figure that, in absolute terms, remains modest (14,000 monthly searches) but whose growth trajectory is striking.

Another trend observed this week: the perfectly graphic eyeliner is giving way to a softer, more diffused wing, as seen in Cynthia Erivo’s smoky eye at Balenciaga—a shift already confirmed by searches for “eye wing” (+153%).

Hair accessories are making a comeback as a key style element

Oversized bows, sculptural clips, and ornate pins punctuated the couture collections, confirming that hair accessories are no longer just a practical necessity: “We’re not all going to wear XXL couture bows, but polished clips, velvet ribbons, and elegant pins are clearly making a comeback,” notes Annabelle Taurua. Searches for “hair accessories” have increased by 111% to 607,000 monthly queries, while a new term—“zero-part hair,” hair pulled back without a visible part—is already generating 7,000 searches despite its recent emergence in beauty vocabulary.

Fresha data (Glimpse analysis, July 2026): glass skin +202% (934,000 searches/month), metallic eyes +300% (14,000), eye wing +153% (63,000), hair accessories +111% (607,000), zero-part hair (7,000, new entry).

According to Annabelle Taurua, it won’t be the most spectacular haute couture dresses that will set the tone for fall, but rather these effortless beauty looks that consumers can adopt without changing their makeup bags—it remains to be seen which of these trends will stick around after summer ends.
