min_MNow-IronMan3_fToday, superheroes are everywhere, thanks in particular to film adaptations.
If you’re a fan, or just want to get back to the source, here’s a selection of the best comics of the moment, including Marvel’s “Star Wars” comics, available every two months on newsstands. Jaason Aaron and John Cassaday focus on the adventures of the Rebel Alliance, while Kieron Gillen and Salvador Larroca take on the destiny of Darth Vader. A total success: you’ll feel like you’re in the middle of a film from the saga, and at the same time you’ll discover new information about the characters…

If you love the Avengers, don’t miss the “Avengers Assemble” saga (Marvel Deluxe) from 2012. Brian Michael Bendis and Mark Bagley have created an adventure worthy of Hollywood blockbusters: Thanos wants to seize a cosmic cube created by humans, and the Avengers, aided by the Guardians of the Galaxy, will try to thwart his plans. Fasten your seat belts, these 8 episodes are breathtaking. The only downside: at one point, Bendis presents Black Widow as a torture expert and Star-Lord as a cold-blooded killer…In parallel, “Avengers the Promise of Ultron” brings together episodes created in 1963 by legends Jim Shooter, John Byrne and George Pérez! In particular, you’ll find Ant-Man, whose film is this summer’s must-see event.

Finally, the origins of Tony Stark are on the agenda in “Marvel Now Tome 3”. Kieron Gillen surprises us with the boldness of his script, and the plates by Greg Land, Dale Eaglesham and Carlo Pagulayan are superb. The story is set first in space, in the company of Recorder 451, then on Earth, with some astonishing revelations, to say the least…

At DC, don’t miss the monthly “Superman Saga” and volume 6 of “Batman” (“Past, Present, Future”) in bookshops, featuring adventures set in different eras. Stars Scott Snyder, Greg Capullo, Andy Kubert, Alex Maleev and Sean Murphy, among others, are on hand to steer the ever-complex destiny of Bruce Wayne.

Finally, Delcourt offers the 4th volume of the adventures of Snoopy et le petit monde des Peanuts, dating from 1976 and 1977. A real treat, signed by Schulz, in a superb collection that pays tribute to this exceptional artist.

On the DVD side, action fans will be delighted to (re)discover “Fast&Furious 7” (Universal), starring the late Paul Walker and including exceptional fights such as “Jason Statham vs. Dwayne Jonhson” and “Taken 3” (EuropaCorp), with Liam Neeson being hunted down in the USA. Enjoy !
