La Biosthétique entrusts the vitality of long hair to olive tree stem cells

Long hair carries the memory of passing time: the older a lock grows, the more brushing, drying, and exposure to sun or wind it has been through. La Biosthétique tackles this cumulative wear with an overhaul of its Long Hair range, now built around an active derived from wild olive tree stem cells and a delivery technology presented as next generation.

The choice of the wild olive tree as the source of this active is not trivial for a hair care brand: this tree, known for its ability to survive in arid conditions and to pass through several decades without faltering, offers an image fairly consistent with the promise made to long hair, itself subject to a prolonged form of ordeal by time compared with shorter cuts that are renewed more often.

The principle rests on a transport system designed to carry the actives precisely to the heart of the hair and the scalp, rather than leaving them to act on the surface as many conventional hair treatments do. This approach targets the structure of the hair directly, its elasticity and its hydration, with the ambition of strengthening the hair fibre and improving its resistance along its whole length, from the roots to the oldest and therefore most weakened ends.

The brand announces figures that give the measure of its ambitions: up to 75% fewer split ends, 38% additional resistance, heat protection up to 230°C, 34% more volume and a hair structure strengthened by up to 186%. Figures that, on their own, say nothing of the sensory experience of the treatment, but that reflect an openly technical positioning, closer to the vocabulary of cosmetic research than to the traditional promise of beauty. This fine segmentation between types of need, rather than a single formula supposed to suit all long hair, reflects an approach to hair care that takes seriously the diversity of textures and fibre conditions found from one head of hair to another.

This technological overhaul unfolds across a complete routine of eight products, designed to cover every step of the hair ritual. The two shampoos, Protective Volumising and Protective Softening, are intended for fine hair and dry hair respectively, while the Protective Repair Mask targets the most weakened lengths. The Protective Conditioning Fluid, a leave-in treatment, provides hydration and heat protection up to 230°C, while the Growth Booster focuses on the roots to support their anchoring. The Silky Detangling Spray eases detangling and limits the friction responsible for breakage, the Refreshing Dry Shampoo extends freshness between two washes, and the Weightless Conditioning Oil closes the routine with a light nourishment of lengths and ends.

Beyond the technical performance it claims, the range keeps a sensory signature designed by the perfumer Geza Schön, who pairs the freshness of bergamot, blackcurrant and mandarin with a floral heart of magnolia and jasmine, warmed by notes of musk and sandalwood. This choice not to sacrifice the olfactory experience to measurable efficacy alone says something about how La Biosthétique conceives high-end hair care: a discipline in which scientific proof and the pleasure of use must advance together, without one serving to justify the absence of the other.

This new generation of Long Hair does not present itself as a total break with the identity of the range, but as an evolution of its initial ambition: to address specifically the needs of long hair, whose oldest part remains the most exposed to external aggressions. By betting on a delivery technology rather than a simple enrichment of the formula, La Biosthétique seeks less to add ingredients than to rethink the way they reach their target inside the fibre.
