JAEGER-LECOULTRE PRESENTS THE REVERSO TRIBUTE SMALL SECONDS IN GREEN
Immediately aware of the Reverso’s success beyond the sporting world for which it was created in 1931, the Manufacture began offering coloured versions of the original black dial in the very first year.
Over the decades, the Reverso has featured a variety of dials and case sizes, without compromising the integrity of the original model.
In 2021, the Grande Maison presents the Reverso Tribute Small Seconds in green, recalling Reverso’s iconic first color editions. The sunray-lacquered dial and matching leather strap feature a vivid hue, evocative of the dark green pine forests surrounding the Manufacture Jaeger-LeCoultre in the Vallée de Joux. The dial reveals all the signature elements of the Reverso Tribute, including applied hour markers, rather than numerals, to indicate the hours. Similar to the Dauphine hands, their faceted silhouette lends depth to the lacquered surface. On the lower half of the dial, the circular small seconds display breaks with the linearity of the dial and case. In a nod to the dial’s finish, the stretcher features a sunburst pattern on its inner surface, visible when the case is turned over.
In 2011, Jaeger-LeCoultre, determined to bring the Reverso back to its roots, began a collaboration with Casa Fagliano. Renowned in the polo world for its handcrafted boots, Casa Fagliano created bracelets for a special series of Reverso models. In keeping with the casual modernity of the Tribute collection, the calf leather strap of the new Reverso Tribute Small Seconds, designed according to Casa Fagliano’s signature design, reveals the same green hue as the dial, creating a harmonious style that reveals the timeless character of the Reverso.
