A mecca for Parisian nightlife for several decades, the Alcazar has risen from the ashes. We were invited to take part in this rebirth at a party for the whole of Paris.

Imagine an exceptional tide, poetic and open to all inspirations, covering 62 rue Mazarine.
The former Alcazar would have cast its last lights on Saint-Germain-des-Prés, before the beautiful and secret metamorphosis…
The historic Parisian establishment closes its doors for three months. From September to December 2015, the keys will be entrusted to architect and decorator Laura Gonzalez.
The starting point for the project: the idea of a grand house, entertaining with a new spirit.
A family home, a collectors’ house, where surprises emerge from behind screens, drawers and mustard- or duck-blue-colored alcoves.
The new Alcazar’s hallmark will be its meticulously composed spaces with invisible transitions.
To reach the smoking room or the balcony, you’ll have to take unexpected turns, as light as air, passing lounges with angelic pinks or bright green.
Nested worlds of total freshness and absolute elegance, they call on the flawless craftsmanship of marble, brass, terrazzo, straw and wood.
As a way of shaping the material, we combine lacquered, waxed, encaustic, raw and wild materials.
Everything will be both harmonious and contrasting.

The main hall, majestically topped with vegetation, will turn the Alcazar into an archipelago of ecosystems, whose different yet symbiotic origins will give it a garden-like feel.
This elegance will highlight a very Parisian fable. The Alcazar’s aim is to restore a certain art de vivre to the limelight, with a mix of culture, gastronomy and humor.
From the exuberance of yesteryear, the Alcazar will retain a kind of hushed jubilation.
Something splendid is in the offing. As only Paris has the secret.
