The Everest of unique gifts
Rooted in the brand’s history, the art of gift-giving has always inspired the creation of Diptyque.
From the outset, the founders of the famous boutique at 34 Boulevard Saint Germain in Paris – Desmond Knox-Leet, Christiane Gautrot and Yves Coueslant – were determined to offer surprising objects with a unique character.
A bag of earthen marbles, necklaces of unknown pearls, a leather purse worked by a Florentine artist… A bazaar where people come to unearth a find, a poetic fantasy, whatever the price, as long as it’s perfectly made. In keeping with this tradition, the Collection 34 has become, over the last few seasons, a
rendezvous awaited by lovers of rare emotions. The kind you want to give to your loved ones. Those aroused by an original object. Unique. Once unearthed, the object becomes a messenger of feelings. It is then clothed in a harmony of three shades of tissue paper. Each object has its own dedicated color combination. A subtle detail of the
diptyque know-how, in use since 1961. The Collection 34, which is exclusively reserved for the Maison’s boutiques, also benefits from original packaging. Graphic prints, colorful fabric pouches, boxes to collect and divert: so many delicate attentions to sharpen the pleasure of giving.
Instinct is the watchword
Driven by a breath of lightness and fantasy, the Collection 34 imposes no rules on itself. It is woven from encounters with artisans, their know-how and their experiments. In this way, objects are born as a matter of course, and collectors who discover them need only listen to their own instincts. This cabinet of curiosities guides us towards the ideal gift, perfect for everyone.

Dressed for Winter
Already a cult favorite within the Collection 34, the exclusive Eaux de Parfum follow unexplored olfactory paths that have seduced a public in search of atypical fragrances.
While their formulas and handcrafted bottles remain unchanged, this season they are dressed in new cases. At diptyque, pattern has always been a distinctive element.

The winter 2017 Collection 34 offers a multitude of treasures imagined to satisfy every craving, whatever the budget or day of the year.
SCULPTURES FOR DISTRIBUTION
Bouquet of glass
and fragrances
Created by artist Laurence Brabant, this exceptional piece is more than just a decorative object. An expert in flame-blown glass, Laurence Brabant has designed a series of rods and tubes in transparent, colored, twisted glass.
Gathered in a black marble goblet, these tubes of different sizes and heights, blown and cut by hand, compose an abstract bouquet. Filtered by this colored prism, the light difracts and becomes a colored veil. This motley bouquet combines paper stems soaked in perfume concentrate and glass stems. A veritable olfactory UFO, it delicately perfumes the space and can be recomposed at will.
LIGHT AND SHADE

Borosilicate twists
Used to manufacture laboratory equipment, borosilicate is a material that withstands the highest temperatures.
A material already appreciated by Christiane Gautrot – co-founder of the diptyque brand – who collected large borosilicate jars filled with seeds in her boutique at 34 Boulevard
Saint Germain. This hijacking of the laboratory in the service of decoration inspired Nivyne, a master glassmaker based in the Vendée region. Designed by Studio Jean-Marc Gady, these photophores are available in two versions.

Murano sand
Still by master glassmaker Vincent Breed, the Murrines photophore hijacks a technique that originated on the island of Murano, near Venice.
The craftsman cuts a glass stick containing several layers of coloured material into thin slices and applies them in a totally random fashion to the acid-etched glass. In this way, the murrines, which retain their shine and brilliance, contrast with the rest of the perfectly sandblasted photophore.

Halogen glass
A founder of modern optics, Augustin Fresnel invented the lens that enables lighthouses to difract light and propel it powerfully to the farthest ships. This technology finds its way into the autumn 2017 Collection 34 thanks to glassmaker Waltersperger, and Studio Jean-Marc Gady, already the creator of the scented palets.
Named Fresnel, in homage to the inventor behind the concept, the photophore is made using a semi-automatic process, then cut to size by hand.
Classic candles can be housed here to spread their soft light around your home or loved ones.

PETIT BRÉVIAIRE DE LA POÉSIE DIPTYQUE

Géométrie Variable
A range of colors that match each other, making it possible to mix and match the bases of the snuffers.
Made in Portugal in an expert ceramics factory, these printed candle and snuffer bases feature colorful motifs in a palette of blue, green, black, white and gray.

Festive Curiosity
For Christmas 2017, master glassmaker Vincent Breed has created a decoration to hang on the Christmas tree: a glass ball with iridescent and solar effects.
Each object is handmade, like the photophores, and features asperities that give the decoration a unique character. In half-light, daylight or the reflection of a garland, the glass sphere takes on the glow of an open fire.
