Oscar Carvallo Fall-Winter 2014 couture collection
Entitled Save Our Souls (SOS), the new Oscar Carvallo couture autumn-winter 2014 collection is a call for the redemption of the souls of all peoples who, like Venezuela, are fighting to defend their rights and freedoms.
From the innovation and search for innovative materials that characterize Maison Carvallo, dresses in tulle, mikado and silk gazar parade in shades of gold, white, gray, blue and pink, adorned with horsehair threads, pearls and embroidered heart appliqués. Nourished by futuristic influences, pearlescent leather tops and short dresses shimmered and blended with tulle skirts. Phosphorescent stripes and mesh dresses energize determined silhouettes with a sporty allure.
A celestial, soothing atmosphere is set off by oxidized accessories that evoke past battles: earrings, necklaces and belts designed with cartridge belts and authentic bullets, breastplates and globular bracelets emblazoned with “SOS”, and accessories in the shape of open hearts. Emblematic pieces from the House of Oscar Carvallo, OC monogrammed tights accompany silhouettes in powder pink and charcoal gray tones.
The highlight of the season, the wedding gown, created by visual artist Pancho Quilici, brings the show to a close, elevating us to other spheres. This bodily structure suggests a way of thinking about clothing as a refuge and a vehicle for survival.
A strong, well-balanced collection where the mix of materials and the structure of the dresses project the woman into the modern world.
