OPPO BRAND BECOMES OFFICIAL SMARTPHONE PARTNER

OF THE WIMBLEDON CHAMPIONSHIPS April 26, 2019, Paris – Thanks to its partnership with the All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC), OPPO becomes the first “official partner” smartphone brand and the very first Asian partner of the Wimbledon Championships. Already an official partner of FC Barcelona and the International Cricket Council (ICC), OPPO, one of the world’s leading smartphone brands, is taking another step into the world of sport with this new partnership. This five-year contract, which will begin with the 2019 Championships, represents a genuine mutual opportunity for both brands to grow and increase their presence in key markets. OPPO will take advantage of Wimbledon’s strong reputation to increase its presence in the UK and Europe, while demonstrating its determination to make a long-term commitment to the market. AELTC will benefit from the considerable strength of the OPPO brand to increase Wimbledon’s reach in growth markets such as China.

Central to the partnership, in keeping with Wimbledon’s motto “In Pursuit of Greatness”, and OPPO’s commitment to product innovation and design, is the use of OPPO smartphone technology at the championships. OPPO’s top-of-the-range phone, the OPPO Find X and the latest model, OPPO Reno, will be used to bring the beauty of Wimbledon to life. Indeed, to illustrate this collaboration, some of the best photos taken on OPPO smartphones during the tournament will be selected for the official OPPO photo gallery at Wimbledon. This is an important move for OPPO’s new brand strategy, which aims to provide more unified and in-depth communication to its consumers worldwide. OPPO will also be presenting a “Breakthrough Award”, a special prize to honor young players during the competition at Wimbledon.
