Story #2
“Schiaparelli’s Pink Victory

“Colors give me ecstatic joy”.
“We can add padding and knots, we can lower or raise lines, modify curves,
accentuate this or that, harmony must always remain. The Greeks understood this law, and gave their goddesses the serenity of perfection and the extraordinary appearance of ease. ”
Elsa Schiaparelli, Shocking Life (1954)
Building on its heritage of collaborations with artists, craftspeople and diverse talents, the House of Schiaparelli presents Story a new vision of ready-to-wear and accessories. Each ready-to-wear wardrobe is built around a theme, or Story drawing on Schiaparelli’s past, present and future to embody the woman of today.
Story #2 celebrates the energy and determination of a woman whose spirit is embodied in vibrant colors, graphic cuts, bold, refined details and urban, sportswear silhouettes.
Elsa Schiaparelli’s Roman childhood, surrounded by classical Hellenistic statues, her life in New York, her beginnings in sportswear fashion and her taste for audacity all merge into a neo-Victory of Samothrace, complete with American soccer helmet and other Schiaparelli symbols. In a nod to Niké (the Greek goddess of victory), it emanates from Story #2 strength and gentleness.
Between a fluorescent oversized hooded windbreaker in ripstop nylon and an ultra-feminine mini-dress embroidered with a fantasy jungle of beads and feathers, the wardrobe of Story #2 extends from day to night. T-shirts, sweatshirts, jogging suits and bombers mix with perfectly cut jackets and draped dresses.
Joyful shades of shocking pink, “midday sun” orange and stunningvermilion are enhanced by touches of black, white and cobalt blue. Accessories, jewels and buttons play with resin in psychedelic multicolored digital gradations, faceted like a precious piece. The Secret by Schiaparelli illuminated by its gilded brass padlock clasp, debuts in shocking pink.
