The Emporio Armani woman is determined, eclectic and daring in her decisions. With little regard for elementary rules, she is a young woman who baffles and astonishes. Playing with fashion and writing her own rules, she says things straightforwardly.
Suspended in the balance between masculine and feminine, this season she pushes her choices to the extreme, allowing her to express herself spontaneously, instinctively and ironically. She dresses like a dandy, with long, flowing jackets, little button-down blazers and fluid, flared pants. And she never says no to a white shirt with a tie or ruffle around the neck. She breaks the masculine austerity of checks and maxi houndstooth with touches of lace and draped velvet. Or she becomes hyper-feminine with a multitude of tiny ruffles, knitted boas, short dresses and capes that recall the lexicon of couture. Joyfully, she reveals her legs in shorts.
The interplay of contrasts is a story of volumes, materials and colors: graphic black and white give way to three different shades of green – jade, forest and clover – while thick, masculine wools give way to the sparkle of silk and crystals. Velvet is a recurring theme even in accessories: pointed-toe flats, crystal-covered sandals, small bucket bags and clutches.
