Pastry Chef Adrien Salavert has chosen to pay tribute to the sublime decor of La Réserve Paris – Hotel and Spa with two gourmet creations specially imagined to enchant festive tables at the end of the year. Evoking the Bibliothèque du Duc de Morny for the Bûche de Noël 2019, and the sumptuous chestnut trees of Avenue Gabriel for the Galette des Rois 2020, two desserts with a very Parisian spirit to be reserved very soon….

A LIMITED-EDITION MASTERPIECE FOR THE LOG
“Les contes de Noël” orking for new ideas, Adrien Salavert usually wanders into the Bibliothèque du Duc de Morny for inspiration. The impressive collection of antique books inspired him to pay tribute to this very special place in La Réserve Paris with a trompe-l’œil log made up of three volumes. This 2019 edition features the hotel’s iconic colors: golden Cordoba leather, red lacquer and dark wood. Three volumes for two different flavors. The cover of the first all-chocolate book opens to reveal the beautiful handwritten vision of the Christmas spirit according to the Pastry Chef of La Réserve Paris – Hotel and Spa.
Inside, the pages have given way to a box of delightful tea- and citrus-scented chocolates, to be enjoyed with coffee as a light end to the festive agape. As for the two books below, together they make up a refined log, featuring the scent of citrus fruits, chocolate and black tea with woody notes, three aromas emblematic of a dream Christmas by the fireside in the library. An original creation that epitomizes, more than any other, the patisserie d’auteur.
ROYAL CROWN FOR THE TRADITIONAL GALETTE
The coronation of kings and queens takes on a new dimension this year, with an unexpected galette that literally takes the shape of a crown. A spectacular effect for dessert… For this original recipe, the Pastry Chef at La Réserve Paris has chosen to combine vanilla with marrons glacés, a nod to the majestic chestnut trees that line Avenue Gabriel, just outside the hotel. A delight as elegant to the eye as it is delectable to the taste buds. Once again this year, the iconic elephant-shaped bean, La Réserve’s signature emblem, is hidden inside. Collectors beware.
