Like subtly reinterpreted ballerina slippers, the shoes in the Dior Etoile line , unveiled at Maria Grazia Chiuri’s Spring-Summer 2019 ready-to-wear show, are adorned with ribbons, black or Nude, that cross and tie delicately on the ankle. In a play of transparencies, their Plexiglas heels – studded with two lucky stars, the Maison’s signature code – recall the grace and lightness of dancers on their pointe shoes. To follow the making of these shoes, you’ll have to visit Dior’s workshops in Italy.
