London’s men’s fashion week got off to an energetic start thanks to Topman Design, the premium men’s line from the Topshop group. After a certain homage to the ’70s in recent collections, Topman men are definitely turning to the ’80s for summer 2016. The rock spirit is still present, with several leather jacket proposals, but is quickly forgotten by a stylistic vocabulary mixing sportswear, street and subculture. Jackets are adorned with patches and patches of all kinds, while pants are worn very loosely. Pastel pink is daring, as are stripes on pyjama sets. Even jogging bottoms and shorts are reinterpreted, teamed with pull-on parkas and waterproof capes. Note the “Let’s riot” slogan on many models, reminding us that the rebel spirit is never far away…
