The American designer, who chose to show his men’s collection in Paris while his women’s collection was shown in New York, made a point of setting the scene: guests seated in an arc as if for a show, a young man lying in bed, preparing for his death with serenity, a shower of ashes on the people who had come to pay their respects and pay their last respects… the models followed one another, walking softly. Black is the order of the day around costumes made from luxurious materials, mixed, cut and reworked. Nothing is left to chance. Details of lace, fur and length bring a new dimension to the pantsuit. Superimposed jackets, pants finishing above the ankle and even Bermuda shorts and skirts remain the designer’s trademark, drawing us into a new romantic, profound and poetic story every season.
