Giorgio Armani presented its Haute Couture collection, Armani Privé, at the Palais de Tokyo, in the presence of a host of celebrities including Robin Wright, Juliette Binoche and Kristin Scott Thomas. Transparent bamboos planted on the catwalk were a leitmotif on the garments. Loose-fitting pants like samurai outfits and belts tied at the waist expressed a state of plenitude and serenity. More dynamic, tops are worn short and, as the collection progresses, embroidered with sequins and pearls. Everything recalls the slender lines of bamboo. A little tubular pleated dress, a coat made of ribbons or a draped bustier delicately held in the back, a real architect’s work.
