The name of this beautiful brand, inspired by the great ships with their square sterns, evokes the great outdoors and escapism. Some of the perfume names still live on in our memories: Sortilège, Eau Noble, Snob…
An emblematic house created in 1930 by Prince Murat, it was made famous by the great perfumer Paul Vacher, renowned in particular for his creations of Arpège de Lanvin and Miss Dior. It was in the heart of his private mansion in Neuilly that, throughout the twentieth century, the formulas for the perfumes that gave the House its letters of nobility were developed and manufactured.
Today, Maison de Parfumerie le Galion is reissuing the fragrances that made it famous, and invites you on a journey of initiation to discover or rediscover its collection of rare creations, designed with distinction and elegance in mind.
* SORTILÈGE – The iconic
In 1936, Paul Vacher created the richest, most refined fragrance ever: Sortilège, bringing together more than eighty essences. Today, Sortilège returns in a composition faithful to its original notes, with its intense, bewitching trail of aldehydic florals, a balanced, chic and sensual bouquet of perfect elegance. The perfect alchemy between fragrance and skin.
LES SOLIFLORES
* TUBÉREUSE – The emblematic
Tubéreuse, the narcotic flower, was launched in 1937 by Maison Le Galion. A tribute to Paul Vacher’s particular taste for Soliflores, a perfumer’s exercise he was particularly fond of, the Tubéreuse flower exudes all its aroma again today in this ultra-feminine, sensual and melodious fragrance. A voluptuous, intoxicating fragrance.
* IRIS – La Mythique
Iris, an ode to this delicate, subtle flower, queen of powdery notes, now revisited from the original 1937 formula in an elegant creation. An interpretation of the very essence of the Art Deco era.
A fragrance embodying French chic and natural elegance.
* LA ROSE – The must-have
In 1950, Le Galion created La Rose as a tribute to all women. Rose de Chypre, Rose d’Orient, Rose d’Ispahan, each year Paul Vacher smells over 70 different rose essences and selects one to be used in the composition of the perfume, now reinterpreted with the utmost delicacy from the original formula.
* SNOB – The elegant
In 1952, Paul Vacher created Snob, a fruity-spicy floral bouquet. A creation in tune with the times, with a particularly sumptuous, diffusive personality. Snob, the fragrance of a Parisian woman, charismatic and sophisticated, strong and independent in the image of the fashion icons of the time.
* SPECIAL FOR GENTLEMEN – The masculine
Special for Gentlemen, the House’s first fragrance for men, created in 1947 to revive the traditions of Belle Parfumerie and the use of noble materials. A superb oriental amber, masculine, distinguished and refined. A tribute to the heritage of savoir-faire, excellence and savoir-vivre, true to the spirit of Paul Vacher in this elegant re-edition of this fragrance.
* WHIP – The timeless
1953 – Le Galion creates Whip, a particularly refreshing fragrance for summer. Originally created for men, it quickly caught on with women. Whip is a return to basics, to freshness, tonicity and distinction for this timeless citrus cologne, a spicy chypre with a strong character.
* EAU NOBLE – The androgynous
In Europe, the late 60s marked a major sociological turning point. Women were wearing pants and borrowing men’s perfumes. It was the beginning of the sexual revolution. Eau Noble by Le Galion was launched in 1972. Citrusy, chypre, leathery, with a mixed tendency, Eau Noble is a fragrance with a sporty origin, a racy perfume, all nobility.
* 222 – L’inclassable
A fragrance found in the archives of Maison Le Galion. A forgotten creation in a box dating from 1930-1935, with the sensual oriental fragrances of the time, giving free rein to inspiration for a bewitching, carnal creation built around an oriental amber-leather accord.
