Roland Mouret’s “desirable” collection…First show of the day at Les Beaux Arts for Roland Mouret, who like an artist uses color to structure the silhouette. The Toulouse-based designer embellishes women with a host of dresses and skirts, from close-fitting with a marked waist and flared at the bottom, to ultra-shapely with zippers at the back. A 3D-applied rose further feminizes the wardrobe. Elastic bands emphasize backs and shoulders. Vitamin-rich orange closes the show for asymmetrical tops or dresses with frayed feather embroidery. Roland Mouret is becoming increasingly international, and has announced the opening of a boutique on Madison Avenue, a fine French success story for this self-taught designer!
