From The Rolling Stones to Patti Smith, The Who, Bob Dylan and Jimi Hendricks, New York hotel rooms in particular have felt their walls tremble to the sound of their guitars.
In fact, filmmaker Sofia Coppola drew inspiration from it for her film “Somewhere”.Somewhere“(2010, Golden Lion at the 67th Venice Film Festival) The Château Marmont in Los Angeles, where rock legends such as Janis Joplin and Led Zeppelin roamed the corridors on motorcycles, is revealed… And who hasn’t thrilled to the sounds of the Eagles’ “Hotel California”?
These artists, who traveled far and wide, found in these hotel rooms and suites a semblance of cocoon and protection, in which they felt able toexpress their creativity. Like a truce in their hectic public lives.
It was to pay tribute to these musicians with their decadent stories that the concept of Suite n°7 was created. As if“to bring Rock back to where it was born, where it reveals its intimacy and its cracks: a place of inspiration, invention, extravagance, excess…“.
Every month, Suite n°7 offers a very private concert in a French palace or grand hotel. The idea is both to discover talented bands, and to be introduced in a hyper-selective way to new venues.
The first meeting, which took place at theHôtel de Crillon in Paris on September 18, was a success, and put the spotlight on up-and-coming band Great Mountain Fire.
And because Rock is a popular musical genre, Suite n°7 invites the public to attend; of course, the precious tickets can be counted on the fingers of a few hands…
