Munich-based BMW Group once again pushes the boundaries of innovative driving and intense emotions with its BMW XM, the first M HYBRID vehicle with an exceptional design that redefines the concept of Sports Activity Vehicles (SAV).
The unique balance between driving pleasure and well-being is also emphasized inside the vehicle. The sculptural, three-dimensional headliner features a prism-shaped Alcantara structure, a work of art illuminated by hundreds of LEDs that lend the cabin a luxurious, sophisticated spirit. The use of light highlights the three-dimensional character of the sky, accentuated by the elegant structure of the Alcantara. The eggplant hue of the BMW XM’s deep blue roof frame adds a personal and elegant touch to the interior.
Andrea Boragno, President and CEO of Alcantara S.p.A., declared: “Style, creativity and the avant-garde come together in this BMW XM to create a unique creation, the like of which I have never encountered before”. He also emphasized the qualities of Alcantara material – light, strong and elegant – which make it the preferred choice of the world’s leading automakers.
Last November, BMW Italy and Alcantara had already collaborated on a joint project: the BMW M4 Competition, featuring a unique Alcantara interior. Seats, headlining, pillars and door panels were dressed in black with contrasting black and yellow stitching, celebrating the historic partnership between the two companies and demonstrating the extreme versatility of Alcantara.
The new BMW XM, one of the flagship models of 2022 and the 50th anniversary year of BMW M GmbH, is now available on the market. The Alcantara upholstery reflects the M spirit and innovation of the BMW M brand.
The BMW XM’s CO2 emissions and fuel consumption vary according to driving cycles: 1.6 – 1.5 l/100 km according to WLTP, 30.1 – 28.9 kWh/100 km according to WLTP and 36 – 33 g/km according to WLTP.
