Orient Express makes a stopover in Paris, says the town. In a window facing the Pont-Neuf, a sleeper with the initials O.E. invites you to daydream. Push open the doors of the Samaritaine and discover the heritage of a travel craftsman. In the four corners of the Orient-Express space at La Samaritaine, an unprecedented collection of travel objects is unveiled.
A HISTORY OF KNOW-HOW
In 1870, on the banks of the Seine, Ernest Cognacq and Marie-Louise Jaÿ opened the Samaritaine, destined to become the largest department store in Paris. In 1883, the Orient-Express linked Paris to Constantinople for the first time. Symbols of elegance embellished by Art Deco, La Samaritaine and Orient Express have attracted a cosmopolitan clientele for 150 years, enthralled by the audacity of their creations and their beautiful design.
AN INVITATION TO TRAVEL
A travel craftsman since 1883, Orient Express is now revisiting its heritage with the creation of its first collection of travel objects, “Steam Dream”. Born of a study of the customs and habits of train travelers, this collection of cultural items, accessories, arts, crafts and design objects offers free spirits and dreamers the chance to take a piece of the myth with them.
A COLLECTION LIMITED EDITION
Steam Dream stands at the crossroads of travel, design, culture, craftsmanship and excellence, while showcasing exceptional know-how through limited edition collaborations with Atelier Philippe Allemand, Au Départ, Bang & Olufsen, Bernardaud, Casarialto, Circu, Dumas Paris, Duvelleroy, Epeda, Francesco Maglia, Hector Saxe, Hennessy Paradis, Hugo Toro, Maison Bonnet, Smythson, Thierry Wasser, Trudon and Victor Cadène.
