(re)DESIGNED BY ALEXIS MABILLE Maison de la Truffe will celebrate its 90th anniversary in 2022. For this Parisian institution, this year promises to be rich in celebrations, novelties and undoubtedly charged with emotion.
As with any important event, it’s important to take things one step at a time, and not forget anything, to make the 90th anniversary a real success. Preparations have already begun, and Maison de la Truffe has called on designer Alexis Mabille to “give itself a makeover”. To reflect the soul of this legendary house, Alexis Mabille has designed a warm, nature-inspired décor for the historic Maison, located on Place de la Madeleine.
As early as 1932, the Maison de la Truffe boutique on Place de la Madeleine quickly became the meeting place for Parisian gourmets. The black diamond of gastronomy is on display in all its forms, enticing customers to embark on a tasty journey. Gourmets can choose their fresh truffle, sorted, prepared or preserved according to tradition in glass jars, as well as discover the best of truffles in all their forms: condiments, olive oils, cheeses, sauces, prepared dishes, foies gras and other sweet treats…
Over time, this temple to truffles opened its tasting room. Its expertise enables it to offer a menu that combines tradition and creativity.
Today, Alexis Mabille draws on the history of this Parisian institution to create a refined, warm atmosphere. He is responsible for renovating both the boutique and the tasting room.
” Wood, stone and plants evoke an enveloping, comforting undergrowth. Woodwork in waxed oak marquetry creates optical effects. The play of panelling opens windows onto verdant tapestries, slats of glass and exposed stone. It’s as if this Parisian salon were located in the heart of a lush forest. “Alexis Mabille.
Like the truffle, which blends tradition and craftsmanship with refinement and modernity, Alexis Mabille has designed a timeless place with a contemporary twist. ” I designed it as a showcase for all lovers of the earth’s black diamond, the truffle ,” adds Alexis Mabille.
” The Maison de la Truffe is a place that belongs to Parisians. They come here for the quality of our products. We’re proud to share our expertise with them in this incredible setting designed by Alexis Mabille. “Ramon Mac-Crohon, Managing Director of Groupe Kaspia, owner of Maison de la Truffe. The renovated store and tasting room will be open to the public from April 1, 2021, in line with government guidelines.
