After discovering the greenery of Asturias, we continue our journey along the Camino de Compostela and discover Galicia.

After crossing a wide bridge, we leave Asturias and arrive in the small port of Ribadeo. We dine in a local institution: Restaurant San Miguel.

After a delicious lunch, we set off for Santiago de Compostela. This mythical place brings together pilgrims from all over the world, who sometimes walk for weeks to get to Santiago. They come from France, Spain, Portugal and sometimes much further afield.

A very good restaurant to try in Saint Jacques is Casa Marcelo, which combines traditional and Japanese cuisine.

Galicia is famous for its Pazos, majestic mansions that were once palaces for Galician noblemen. A number of them are open to the public, and their splendid gardens will delight you. In particular, there’s a camellia route that takes you through many of Galicia’s pazos and their gardens, which are filled with camellias.

We also had the opportunity to dine in a Michelin-starred restaurant, Yayo Daporta, a very fine culinary experience. The dishes are refined and the presentation extremely meticulous.

Galicia has also long been invaded by smugglers, and we were able to visit one of their rehabilitated palaces.
