Icosphere presents a very British and empire collection for Autumn Winter 2014-2015.
Designer Julia Smith draws on the codes of military uniforms of the past to project man into the future.
Battle-worn garments, inspiring leadership and conforming to body movements, fit in well with the needs of the modern man. Essential cuts and details from the 18th and 19th centuries are reinvented to create sometimes futuristic looks. The same is true of other contemporary pieces from the period, such as high-collared shirts, gile cravats and cavalry garments, which can be found in the cuts of pants and jackets, not forgetting high jewelry through precious accessories: gold and silver cufflinks complete this elegant silhouette.
Knitwear returns to its origins with aran-style knitted seams in a modern interpretation. Embossed seams inspired by Brandenburg passementerie symbolize the man and his rank.
The monolith is the heart of ICOSPHERE’s graphic identity, appearing in forged bands on jackets, pants and knitwear, as well as in the double collars of shirts and the collars of suits.
There’s a 60’s inspiration in the use of skinny ties, small collars, elaborate lapels and handmade boots.
The collection combines the literary style of the past in homage to Keats and Tennyson, and the military influence with a futuristic vision.
