Stephane Rolland, Haute Couture, Spring Summer 2014

Stephane Rolland wanted to pay homage to the sun with this summer collection, which he designed as a gleam of light.

Rolland’s creatures sail between dawn and dusk, offering us a palette of yellows and whites eclipsed by black. An architect of clothing, Stephane Rolland sculpts material to defy the laws of space, borrowing from nature and plants as he does from flowers that bloom silhouette after silhouette.

The pant suits that open the presentation are dressed in huge suspended arches made of gazant and organza. The basques of the dresses lift to reveal liche embroidery, while the skirts veil and reveal the leg under organza windows.

A metaphorical creature half flower, half creature, ribbed foliage here and there adorns the streamlined silhouettes.

The ultra-feminine, minimalist, sensual silhouette is a brilliant ode to the flower woman and the sun.
