One of the most sought-after hotels in the Sierra Nevada winter sports resort, El Lodge Ski & Spa, a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) will officially reopen its doors on December 15, 2015.
El Lodge, Ski & Spa is an all-wood mountain chalet that blends into the mountainous, wooded surroundings of this resort in southern Spain. Destroyed in a fire last year, the eight bedrooms and twelve suites have been redesigned to offer more space. Large bay windows let in natural light, which floods the room and overlooks the surrounding mountains. Those on the first floor have direct access to the heated swimming pool, Jacuzzi and sauna. Upstairs rooms have large terraces with private Jacuzzis overlooking the mountains and ski slopes.
The hotel has been refurbished byAndrew Martin ‘s teams in the house style, which perfectly combines elegance, comfort and decorative objects from other cultures to provide an escape from everyday life. Cozy bedspreads, hide carpets, mountain decor and vintage photos create a luxurious, comfortable après-ski atmosphere. Leather Chesterfield armchairs and hide chairs bring warmth and refinement to the space.
The hotel has teamed up with Stöckli and Bogner to offer the latest sports equipment and skiwear. Individual and group lessons are provided by the resident team of professional instructors. As at the Marbella Club, a Kids Club created by Minimec welcomes children and offers ski and snowboard lessons.
At après-ski time, guests gather at the Bar before dining at the Grill in a chic and relaxed atmosphere. The restaurant features Caviar de Riofrio, the only caviar produced organically in the Sierra Nevada. After dinner, brandy and cigars are the order of the day in the Lounge.
Located directly on the slopes, The Terrace is accessible by skis, and is the perfect place to enjoy lunch or a hot chocolate outside. The restaurant offers a fusion menu of Mediterranean dishes.
Guests have access to the indoor pool, steam room and sauna, as well as the Spa with its two treatment cabins. A heated outdoor pool with views of the snow-capped mountains is also available.
El Lodge is part of Europe’s most southerly winter sports resort, with 103 runs covering a total of 95 km. The ski season starts in December and ends in April. Just 2 hours from the Marbella Club, it combines a ski/beach holiday with just 1h30 from Malaga International Airport and 45 minutes from Granada International Airport.
