Pharrell Williams with his Tank chair, Richard Neutra’s unknown furniture collection, Emeco celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Navy chair, Rick Owens, François Chambard and the young duo Ladies & Gentlemen are just some of the stars, talents to follow, mythical and up-and-coming brands to be discovered in the teeming exhibition American Design in Paris! For the first time, the Mona Bismarck American Center for Art & Culture is opening its1st floor Salons to host “American Design”, an overview of contemporary American design.
The exhibition will feature both young independent designers (Bec Brittain, Anna Karlin, Fort Standard, Matt Gagnon…) and well-known publishing houses and promising young companies (Emeco, Knoll, Juniper, Neal Feay, Roll&Hill…). The Paris-New-York axis is more than ever at the center of the news!
American Design’s ambition is to offer Paris a panorama of current American design. A number of initiatives have been launched to promote awareness of the key players in contemporary American design. In the U.S., it’s WantedDesign, an international exchange platform and dynamic showcase for current U.S. design. In France, it’s the Triode showroom in Paris, which for several years has been giving visibility to young American designers. The Mona Bismarck American Center also promotes cultural exchanges between France and the United States.
The American Design program reveals the many facets of a complex creative scene. It brings together for the first time young independent designers, new publishing companies and more established names such as Emeco. . Recent creations by Fort Standard, Bec Brittain, Lindsey Adelman, Paul Loebach, Jason Miller, David Weeks, François Chambard, Frederick McSwain, Dror Benchetrit, Matt Gagnon, Michael Boyd and others will be on display, as well as established companies such as Bernhardt design, Emeco and younger ones such as Juniper, Roll&Hill, Neal Feay, BlankBlank and Council …
