Modern ballerinas at VionnetOnce again, Vionnet creates a spectacle with a breathtaking staging. In the basement of the Cité de l’Architecture in Paris, it’s as if we’re traveling through a long tunnel, where the girls are transformed into ballerinas, their shadows sketching out a few dance steps. Backstage, Goga Ashkenazi, owner and artistic director of the house, emphasizes the importance of body movement, revealing it with exposed bodysuits and garter belts. Tones revolved around white, gray and beige. Drapery is sensual, tulle petticoats are transformed into full skirts worn over bras, belts are as important as ever, as are bags worn as backpacks with harnesses.
