After meticulous restoration, the prestigious Catherine Palace in St. Petersburg now reveals the multi-faceted beauty of its Agate Salons in all their splendor. Its majestic architecture and noble materials were a true source of inspiration for Graf von Faber-Castell and its new edition of “Pen of the Year”.
1) A fountain pen created from this luxurious red jasper, with the aim of paying homage to the stone’s colors and character. The filigree detail is finely engraved and meticulously chiselled, and multiple polishings reveal the luminous nuances of this noble surface. Three large pieces of speckled jasper are inlaid in the plaquéplatinum body.
The fountain pen cap is adorned with a luminous grey Russian quartz with a faceted finish. This edition is limited to 1000 pieces.
2) The special 24-carat gold-plated edition is limited to 150 fountain pens. It is highlighted by small black engraving inserts, a gold rosette insert and six magnificent mottled jasper stones. Like the end of the fountain pen, the cap is adorned with 2 luminous Russian yellow quartz with a sparkling finish. This extremely luxurious combination demonstrates the magnificence of Empress Catherine II’s salon. Hand-engraved, the two-tone 18-carat gold nib is available in sizes F, M, B and BB. Platinum-coated attributes protect the rotating tip of the piston mechanism. The numbered fountain pens are presented in a dark black wooden box with six additional storage compartments. A personal certificate, signed by Boris Igdalov, attests to the authenticity of the stones on each pen.
