For the past two seasons, Damir Doma has chosen to present his collection at home, surrounded by just a few guests. With an emphasis on intimacy, he seeks to bring the rich, luxurious textures he uses as close as possible to the wearer, creating garments that cocoon like oversized coats. Tailoring retains its place, in shades of black. The designer emphasizes handmade craftsmanship, while making imperfections visible. Threads finish a garment, and sections of fabric are found on jackets, some of which appear sleeveless, as if unfinished. Cotton, linen, knitwear, double cashmere and jacquard become the star materials, in earthy tones of white, gray, brown and black. Of particular note: the casting. Models of all ages represent Damir Doma’s loyal customer base.
