A few days ago, we witnessed the reopening of the Hilton Paris Opera after a renovation costing over 42 million euros. A chic, Parisian new image in one of Paris’s best-placed historic hotels, after a major renovation period.
Located in the heart of Paris, in the Opéra district, a stone’s throw from Galeries Lafayette and Printemps Haussman, the hotel was built in 1889 by architect Juste Lisch to welcome visitors to the Universal Exhibition. The current renovation program, entrusted to the London firm Richmond International, is a fine blend of historical heritage and modernity, in a timeless, contemporary style. Richmond International has created and renovated numerous hotel projects, including the Waldorf Astoria Trianon Palace Versailles, the Four Seasons Gresham Palace in Budapest, the Langham London and more recently the Langham Chicago.

A renovation costing over 42 million euros has restored the hotel to its former glory in exquisite style.
The Hilton Paris Opera offers 268 rooms, including 29 suites, some with balconies, spread over 5 floors. Each level has been carefully designed to evoke the Parisian Golden Age, offering a different universe on each floor. The highlight of the renovation is the 900m² Presidential Suite: the Maria Callas Suite. In addition to a spacious living room with high ceilings typical of Haussmann buildings, the Maria Callas Suite features a master bedroom with a king-size bed and a second bedroom with twin beds. Both have en suite bathrooms. The hotel, a true historical masterpiece, is built around the majestic Grand Salon, with its 14-metre-high ceiling, hand-painted frescoes, Corinthian-style colonnades and imposing period balustrade, featuring crystal-set chandeliers and mosaic floors. The Grand Salon is a sophisticated place for guests to stroll, have a drink or simply enjoy the Belle Epoque setting. Next to the main entrance is a cosy bar with a precious, more intimate atmosphere: Le Petit Bar, dedicated to spirits lovers.
