Radical change at Gucci! The sudden departure of Frida Giannini (who was initially due to leave after the women’s collection in February) forced the company to completely rethink the collection and design a new one in just 5 days. The entire studio team was moved and applauded as they came out to greet the public. More romantic from the outset, with unisex fashions – a far cry from the dandy rock that Frida Giannini liked to parade. The new Gucci man assumed the role of wearing a lavaliere shirt in colored silk or with a ruffled collar, a short blue sweater revealing a lace underside and a beret on his head. Emblematic pieces from the men’s wardrobe were also featured, such as a green Loden buttoned all the way up to the collar. The famous bit moccasin is transformed into a lined mule. High-waisted pants with wide lapels and a short jacket are the new proportions of the suit. A true 360-degree turn, proving that the Frida Giannini page has definitely been turned. The next artistic director will be announced next week.
