Every season, the Kenzo show is worth the trip for its choice of venue and the atmosphere it creates. Today, the men’s collection takes place in the brand-new Philharmonie de Paris building, which has just opened its doors. Inside, colored poufs and benches line the windows where the men parade… And for next winter, it’s all about protection, comfort and functionality. The large wrap-around parkas are made of waterproof nylon. Knits have been treated in a variety of ways – faded, mottled, patchwork – and can be found on jackets and sweaters that echo Kenzo codes with printed labels and messages of tolerance and love. Artistic directors Carol Lim and Humberto Leon emphasize community spirit. Once again, wearing Kenzo is easily recognizable through highly visual, urban pieces that emphasize a “cool attitude”. Of particular note: colorful utility boots and knitted hand warmers.
