Created in 2003, the Université d’Eté de la Mode aims to welcome foreign students and young professionals to Lyon, and introduce them to the region’s textile industry.
Organized by the Université de la Mode and Modalyon, the Université d’Eté de la Mode has three main components: firstly, lectures by professional speakers and professors from the Université de la Mode, on a variety of subjects such as ethical fashion, merchandising, fashion distribution networks … company visits, including this year’s tour of the Hermès workshops, as well as those of Nathalie Chaize; and finally, professional meetings, including a visit to the Village de Créateurs de Lyon, and a meeting with the Marketing Department of Galeries Lafayette de Lyon!
Students were also able to visit the region’s most important fashion museums, including the Musée des Tissus et des Arts Décoratifs in Lyon and the Musée International de la Chaussure in Romans, as well as the private collection of Paul Poiret dresses in Villeneuve-lès-Avignon.
The Université d’Eté de la Mode is three intensive weeks of fashion, discovery and valuable learning, all carried out in the magnificent and historic city of Lyon!
