When it comes to iconic bags, Louis Vuitton knows its stuff. The Alma, the Noé, the Speedy and many others are illustrious names.
As for the Lockit, it went down in history thanks to Audrey Hepburn in 1958, who wore it in one of her films. Its particularity: a rounded shape on the top accompanied by a rather stiff leather.
For Spring 2014, Louis Vuitton has reinvented this icon. The Neo Lockit is adorned with a cashmere calf leather that is very supple and finer than the leather of the Lockit. The material is pleasantly round to the touch, and the lining is made of soft velvet calfskin. The Neo Lockit’s finishing touches are worthy of Vuitton savoir-faire, with stamped palladium parts. The bag’s clean lines and handles are subtly reminiscent of the Vuitton V.
It’s these small details, these symbols, added to the hand-threading and the meticulous choice of leathers, that convey the heritage and know-how of the famous trunk-maker.
The Neo Lockit, softer but just as distinguished as its predecessor, is designed to be functional (you can slip A4 documents, a laptop or tablet into it with no problem); it’s also perfect for evening wear, thanks to its natural elegance. For Spring 2014, it’s available in five colors: the more classic women will choose black or pebble, while the more daring will opt for raspberry, magnolia or quetsche (a gorgeous plum).
The Neo Lockit is sure to become a must-have!
