Schiaparelli opens its first pop-up store in New York, at Bergdorf Goodman

Schiaparelli opens a pop-up store dedicated to its ready-to-wear and accessories in New York. Located within Bergdorf Goodman, the new space is the very first outlet outside 21 place Vendôme since 1954.

At last night’s inauguration, Lucie de la Falaise and Linda Fargo welcomed HRH Princess Marie-Chantal of Greece, Princess Maria-Olympia of Greece, Stella Schnabel, Nicky Hilton Rothschild, Theodora Richards, Ella Richards, Bertrand Guyon, Alek Wek, Mia Moretti, TK Wonder, Cipriana Quann, Lily Nova, Ajak Deng, Tricia Akello, and many other guests to celebrate the event.

Schiaparelli and Bergdorf Goodman renew a collaboration that began in 1931. Elsa Schiaparelli’s extensive travels inspired the idea of bringing Place Vendôme across the Atlantic to New York. Large trunk-cabins display clothes and accessories in a salon with walls painted with a watercolor of the Place Vendôme. Jean-Michel Frank’s famous cage, which still greets Parisian customers today, has been recreated to immerse New Yorkers in a setting that blends fashion and art.

This singular universe reveals the elegant, eclectic style of the Maison in a hushed atmosphere. This spirit allows you to discover Storya new vision of ready-to-wear and accessories, including the Secretthe very first Schiaparelli designer bag, and the book Schiaparelli & les Artistes, in a unique setting. The Schiaparelli boutique is inaugurated with Story #1, which focuses on Man Ray, Elsa Schiaparelli’s longtime friend and accomplice. His original works are revisited through limited edition garments and accessories.

Bergdorf Goodman also puts Schiaparelli in the spotlight, reserving its windows on the legendary Fifth Avenue for him. Designed by Bergdorf Goodman’s image director David Hoey in collaboration with the Man Ray Trust, they mix Schiaparelli ready-to-wear with photos and paintings by the artist.
