Stars in our eyes, that’s how we felt at the end of the latest show by Lebanese designer Zuhair Murad. For his Spring Summer 2016 Haute Couture collection, christened “Amour-En-Cage”, we find the designer’s signature embroidery and rhinestones. Deeply romantic and baroque, the collection showcases a fulfilled woman, sexy yet glamorous, all finesse and elegance.

Dresses constructed from crinolines give the impression of a gilded cage in which the woman is enclosed. Crinolines add volume and dramatic effect to the dress, and many gowns also feature waist belts and corsets that structure the body, amplify the hips and give a proud allure.

From sexy minidresses to long dresses with glamorous trains and asymmetrical dresses, elegance and chic are the watchwords. Lace and embroidery combine with tulle, organza, gazar, silk crepe, brocade, guipure and silk chiffon for ever greater refinement.
Pastel colors give a fresh, youthful feel: rosewood, grege, periwinkle blue, lilac, celadon green, crystal white, pale yellow or vermilion. Alongside these, more metallic colors (silver, gold, rose gold) give a more sophisticated look.

Finally came the white crinoline wedding dress and its majestic train, all embroidered in rhinestones, leaving us speechless, our heads in the stars.
