The crowds and excitement in front of Yohji Yamamoto’s showroom-workshop, where the show takes place every season, show the effect the Japanese designer still has after more than 30 years of creation. His show also demonstrates Yohji Yamamoto’s dynamism and originality. The suit is at the heart of the collection, and for summer it is offered in supple materials such as cotton and linen, but also in fluidity with baggy sarouel-style pants. Yamamoto doesn’t forget about color, inviting young painters to express themselves on some models, while adding his own personal touch, such as the scribbled drawings appearing on the latest ensembles. We see a singer and his guitar – a passion of Yohji’s – but also a man walking his dog – the designer confesses that he has owned a pet for two years and that it has completely changed his life…
