Louis Vuitton: a magical venue and a grand fashion show by Nicolas Ghesquière…The Fondation Louis Vuitton – which will officially open to the public in October – was the setting for Nicolas Ghesquiere’s third fashion show (counting the Croisière show) for the famous trunk-maker. A dark room with video screens projecting faces, with a very futuristic effect, evokes the imminent departure for this new Louis Vuitton voyage. The sixties-seventies spirit has been rethought by the designer, but with a dose of freshness and modern romanticism in these dresses woven from leather and patent leather, with lavaliere stand collars and little black ribbons, which are then found again with fluidity in white and khaki-brown. Leather also makes a comeback on slightly flared skirts with wide color stripes, or on very short perfecto jackets. A perfect pair of jeans, coordinated with a navy blazer. Arty, offbeat images (red Starky&Hutch car, hairdryer, matches) are printed on a few white models. Pants are worn fuller and mid-calf, unless you opt for models with leather knee pads. A “Swinging London” feel resurfaces in floral prints on velvet ensembles. Dresses embroidered with sequins are zipped at the front for even greater ease. A magical place and a great show, closing Paris Fashion Week in style.
