Horological Machine No4 Final Edition

The HM4 Final Edition: easy to see, virtually impossible to grasp!

Have you ever noticed? Stealth aircraft are generally not at all discreet, quite the contrary… their bizarre angular shapes give the impression of having been designed to attract attention – as if the engineers in charge had got it all wrong. The more stealthy these aircraft are, the more visually striking they are: just think of the F-117 Nighthawk, the B-2 Spirit or the SR-171 Blackbird

MB&F’s latest Horological Machine is no exception. The HM4 ‘Final Edition’ takes its inspiration directly from stealth technology – and I think you’ll agree, it’s not exactly a stealth machine.

“Final Edition? That’s right. When the first cutting-edge HM4 Thunderbolt was launched in 2010, we announced that only 100 HM4 movements would be manufactured. Today, we have 8 movements left to finish the series. This HM4 edition will therefore undoubtedly be the most difficult version to capture: a limited edition of just 8 pieces – which is, after all, quite logical for a stealth Machine, designed to evade all forms of detection.

The HM4 Final Edition features angular square panels, dark surfaces and high-tech titanium. The black PVD treatment gives the titanium a dark, confidential coat, without blocking the play of light on the contrasting matte and polished surfaces. Inside, visible through the numerous sapphire sections, are the 311 components of the unrivalled HM4 movement.

Detecting this HM4 Final Edition will be undeniably difficult… Initial confidential reports indicate that this racy, menacing aircraft will be deployed in just 5 airbases around the globe: Chronopassion in Paris, The Hour Glass in Singapore, Westime in Los Angeles, Chronometryx’s alpine base in Gstaad and MB&F’s home base: the M.A.D.Gallery in Geneva.
