DOM PERIGNON SHIELD BOX: A HIGH-TECH CREATION

Since its foundation, the Abbey of Hautvillers has guided Dom Pérignon. It provides the inspiration for the company’s latest creation: Dom Pérignon Shield Box.
Dom Pérignon Shield Box is inspired by the pure architecture of the Abbey where the monk worked.
The stained-glass window and rose window of the religious edifice, and the Dom Pérignon crest, form a minimalist framework rich in symbolism.
The Benedictine spirit, strict and profound, breathes life into this limited edition, which expresses the values of the House: constantly reinventing the exceptional.

EXTREME INITIATION
Dom Pérignon Shield Box invites you to an innovative sensory initiation, where modernity and excellence celebrate a remarkable vintage: Dom Pérignon Vintage 2002.
The Dom Pérignon Shield Box appeals to all five senses. Firstly, its minimalist carbon-black lines and the discovery of the crest catch the eye.
Then the embossed markings, inspired by the rosette of the Abbaye d’Hautvillers and the Dom Pérignon Vintage 2002 label, the clean lines of the bottle, and the interplay of high-tech textures awaken the sense of touch.
Well-preserved in the isothermal, value-enhancing Dom Pérignon Shield Box, Dom Pérignon Vintage 2002 can be enjoyed in ideal conditions, at 10°C.

DOM PERIGNON VINTAGE 2002: A RADICAL EXPERIENCE
“Grapes are never the same from one year to the next. If a harvest doesn’t meet Dom Pérignon’s criteria, there won’t be a vintage that year. This is not a value judgement, but an aesthetic vision”
Richard Geoffroy, Créateur Dom Pérignon.
Dom Pérignon Vintage 2002 imperceptibly takes the senses from greedy fruit to refined harshness, evoking the harshness of the Champagne terroir.
As soon as the bottle is opened, its golden yellow color awakens the eye once again. Floral, aromatic, subtly spicy and full-bodied, this wine is long-lasting. The nose asserts itself immediately, while the subtle music of fine bubbles is expressed.
Dom Pérignon Vintage 2002 shines with racy freshness, generous finesse and elegant complexity.

DOM PERIGNON VINTAGE 2002: FLORAL, RACEFUL AND INTENSE
Tasting notes
Nose: the bouquet is enticing. Notes of fresh almond and harvest are immediately apparent. After a few seconds of aeration, aromas of preserved lemon, dried and ripe fruit precede smoky and toasty nuances.
The palate: dense and creamy, with a warm, fruit-driven energy. As the tasting progresses, the harmonies become deeper and more profound. The subtle, racy bitterness captivates the palate.
Serving temperature: 8 – 10°C.
The 2002 harvest
After a hot, dry spring, summer alternated between sunny spells and rainy spells. The pre-harvest break was ideal and unexpected.
Between September 12 and 28, the grapes were harvested under sunny skies, offering grapes of exceptional ripeness.
