The famous CHANEL fashion house is renowned for its creativity and savoir-faire. In 2023, it has decided to marry two of its favorite domains, haute couture and haute horlogerie, to create a collection of original watches inspired by one of Gabrielle Chanel’s work tools: the pique-aiguilles.

The Director of CHANEL’s Studio de Création Horlogerie, Arnaud Chastaingt, has appropriated this iconic couture object to create a unique and daring watch, the Mademoiselle Privé Pique-Aiguilles. The aim was to retranscribe the spirit of the tool by offering a functional piece of jewelry that adorns the wrist like a true work of art.

The Mademoiselle Privé Pique-Aiguilles watch is available in five models, each telling a story specific to CHANEL and the world of couture. The first watch, Décor Perles, evokes a flight of jewels in sculpted, lacquered and set yellow gold, delicately placed on a plate featuring black tweed in relief. The other four models, Décor Dentelle, Décor Tweed, Décor Broderie and Décor Matelassé, each take up an emblematic motif of the fashion house and transpose it onto the watch face.

The watches in the Mademoiselle Privé Pique-Aiguilles collection are true haute horlogerie jewels, with cases in 18-carat yellow gold, set with brilliant-cut diamonds and black-coated titanium. The dials are decorated with engraving, enamel and decal techniques, and punctuated with pearls and diamonds.

Each watch in the Mademoiselle Privé Pique-Aiguilles collection is a unique piece, produced in just 20 pieces. They combine the expertise of couture and haute horlogerie craftsmen to offer unique, innovative jewelry, a testament to the creative spirit of the House of CHANEL.
