The Beauty of Time and the Transformation of Traditions in the Dhruv Kapoor Collection

For his spring-summer 2027 collection, Dhruv Kapoor explores the notion of conscious presence and the way time transforms the perception of the body, of materials and of familiar forms. The designer invites us to break free from the frenetic pace of modernity and attend to processes that usually escape the eye. This reflection takes shape in a wardrobe built around layering, movement and the play of proportions.

Faded shades, as if weathered by the sun, sit alongside intense colours, forming a palette that evokes the different stages of ageing and growth. Silhouettes oscillate between ample, elongated volumes and short, fitted cuts, while soft drapes contrast with more structured constructions. The reinterpretation of traditional Indian dress holds a central place: lungis, waistcoats and saris become the starting point for new approaches to draping and layering. Familiar pieces take on a patinated look, as if they kept the traces of time and gesture. Embroideries run along seams and textile surfaces, tracing climbing-plant motifs and lines inspired by nature. The prints evoke faded posters, moss and the textures of old wood, setting different images of the past in dialogue. Experimentation with materials extends this reflection on transformation. Silk mingles with jersey, checked fabrics take on crumpled textures and leather is covered in creases reminiscent of aged surfaces. Washed denim, lace, soft poplin and appliqués with worn edges enrich this palette of expressive textures. The accessories line expands with an oversized version of the Constant pouch, offered in crinkled leather, in combined leather and in a version adorned with hand-made embroidery. The emblematic Mary Jane model returns with a square toe and is also offered as mules trimmed with pompoms, while flat leather sandals evoke the ease of the Indian wardrobe.

The collection thus sets cultural heritage, exploration of materials and a contemporary vision of clothing in dialogue, where the traces of the past are no longer concealed but become an essential part of a new reading of fashion.
