Nine months after his appointment to lead Christian Louboutin’s menswear line, Jaden Smith unveils his first accessory: a sculptural glossy red frame bearing the new “CL” logo, manufactured by Marcolin.
A first gesture within strong aesthetic constraints
Appointed the house’s first menswear creative director in September 2025, Jaden Smith makes his eyewear debut with the LB0048 model, a sculptural frame balancing soft lines and assertive volumes. It reprises Christian Louboutin’s distinctive codes — a textured palmette motif inside the temples, delicate studs at the hinges — while introducing a new “CL” logo applied to the lens and inside the temple tips.
This focus on detail rather than formal rupture places Jaden Smith’s first gesture within a logic of controlled continuity: the frame belongs to the house’s already recognisable vocabulary without overturning its founding codes.

Manufacturing entrusted to an Italian specialist
LB0048 is presented in a glossy red version characteristic of the house’s colour codes, fitted with high-performance ZEISS lenses for optimal optical clarity. Manufacturing is handled by Marcolin, the Italian group founded in Veneto in 1961, which also produces eyewear for brands such as TOM FORD, Zegna and Max Mara, and distributes its collections in more than 125 countries.
Choosing an established specialist rather than in-house production confirms a standard practice in luxury eyewear, where technical mastery of lenses and frames remains largely delegated to a handful of specialised industrial groups, including by the most prestigious houses.

By choosing eyewear rather than clothing for his first creative gesture, Jaden Smith takes on one of the house’s most codified accessories. It remains to be seen whether this entry through detail heralds a broader transformation of the menswear line.
