Snow chic by Monte-Carlo

From December 2 to January 7, 2017, Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer is transforming the Place du Casino in Monte-Carlo into a glamorous ski resort.

Young and old alike can admire the decorations on the Place du Casino de Monte-Carlo, the beating heart of the Principality of Monaco, with its sumptuous light show on the theme of “Snow Chic by Monte-Carlo”. For this latest edition, the Pavillons Monte-Carlo fountain will be transformed into a giant snowball, making it one of the venue’s star attractions. A range of prestigious vintage elements inspired by the mountain world will complete the decor, creating an elegant, relaxed atmosphere. Snow-covered fir trees and gondolas revisited by luxury brands will be the order of the day. The Café de Paris Monte-Carlo Brasserie will be hosting a tasting of rare cheeses, including Bleu Termignon and Beaufort d’Alpage, by Bernard Mure-Ravaud, the unmissable 2007 M.O.F. cheesemaker.

This is followed by a marvelous staging along the Monte-Carlo Shopping promenade: the Monte-Carlo Pavilions, Square Beaumarchais, Avenue de Monte-Carlo and Allée François Blanc will present a selection of unique gifts. A slalom through the boutiques and Christmas huts ends with a gourmet break over an all-chocolate Christmas snack in the Belle Epoque room at the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo.

Lovers of refined delights will fall under the spell of “La Bûche du Châtaignier”, (to take away), imagined by the Pastry Chef of Les Thermes Marins Monte-Carlo, who wanted to share the memories of his childhood walks in the forest. A new invitation to an exceptional bucolic journey on a mandarin compote, light chestnut mousse on a pine nut praline crunch.

For the whole family, or to recapture the spirit of a child, the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort transforms itself into a winter sports resort throughout December. The first stop is at L’Orange Verte, where a gondola on the terrace offers the opportunity to enjoy a drink in the heart of a fir forest, before continuing the stroll among the wooden chalets for hot chocolate and homemade waffles. After a few slides on the Las Brisas restaurant’s ephemeral ice rink, which blends the snow with the Grande Bleue… it’s already time to marvel at the 4-course menu by Michelin-starred Chef Marcel Ravin.

Finally, for New Year’s Eve 2017, all Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer addresses suggest their vision of enchantment and celebration; and the Salle des Etoiles at Sporting Monte-Carlo recommends an unforgettable New Year’s Eve with the “Il Volo” trio, who set the evening alight with a “pop-opera” repertoire. The Casinos de Monaco will be clinking champagne glasses, while the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort will be unleashing the magic of fireworks, which for the first time this year will be fired from the terrace of the Blue Gin bar. On January 1st, a number of brunches organized for the first family reunions of the year or reunions with friends welcome guests to the Salle Empire at the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo or the Salle Belle Epoque at the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo.
